What is RSS?
RSS (Rich Site Summary) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many web sites syndicate their content as an RSS feed to inform their audiences of the recent changes, news and events.
RSS feeds allow you to stay informed by retrieving the latest content from the sites you are interested in. You save time as you do not need to visit each site individually.
What is OPML?
OPML (Outline Processor Markup Language) is a file which is designed to contain a list of items. Its commonly used with RSS to supply a 'bundle' or collection of RSS feeds. Your feed reader will provide instructions on how to subscribe to, or import an OPML file.
How to subscribe
RSS feeds can be read inside most modern browsers, but often many choose to go with more featured, flexible, and platform independent web based feed readers such as Bloglines or Google Reader. Popular, more desktop based equivalents such as FeedReader or Amphetadesk can also be used.
Once you have set up an RSS reader, click the links and then copy and paste the links into your reader’s ‘Add subscription’ option. Additionally you can copy a link, right click and select ‘Copy shortcut’ (Internet Explorer), or ‘Copy link location’ (Firefox).
